Andrei Arshavin's current coach believes the chances of the Russia star joining Arsenal this month are "very high".
The Gunners are reported to have seen one bid for the playmaker rejected by Zenit St Petersburg this month.
But Zenit coach Dick Advocaat is confident that a deal will be struck between the two clubs which will result in Arshavin moving to the Emirates Stadium.
"Negotiations with Arsenal continue and the chances are very high that Arshavin will soon play in the English Premier League," he told the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a number of top clubs across Europe ever since impressing at last summer's European Championship finals, but Zenit have so far resisted all bids to take the player away from the club.
But speaking last week, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted he was hopeful of signing the player.
He said: "We are in negotiations but we want to respect our principles.
"I am very hopeful. Days? Yes, because the transfer window will close and we have already crossed halfway.
"It will be days, but if it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen."
