Andrey Arshavin believes his understanding with Cesc Fabregas and the emergence of young stars like Jack Wilshere can help Arsenal end their trophy drought. The north London doom mongers are predicting a tough season for the Gunners following the sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City. And while Arshavin has admitted City should be fighting for a top-four finish, he is confident that Arsene Wenger's men are in good shape. The 28-year-old is buoyed not only by Arsenal's victories over Atletico Madrid and Rangers in the Emirates Cup at the weekend, but also by the way the team clicked. 'Cesc and I now understand each other better,' Arshavin told Russian newspaper Sport Express. 'To play with him is very cool. The main thing is that this must not be our last trophy this year. 'The atmosphere in the team is very good. In general I was very pleased with the tournament. I liked that we went to the stadium at midday and there was plenty of time to talk closely. There was a lot of fun together and we don't get the same chance at the training ground.' Arshavin scored both goals in the 2-1 defeat of Atletico on Saturday, but the real star of the weekend was 17-year-old Jack Wilshere, who scored two in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Scottish champions Rangers. 'Wilshere is a very talented footballer,' said Arshavin, 'seen by everyone at the Emirates Cup. He, like some of our other young players, are in really good shape, for which we can only be delighted.'
