Arsene Wenger has vigorously denied reports in Spain that Arsenal have already agreed to sell Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona next summer. And the Gunners boss launched a withering attack on the way La Liga clubs carry out their presidential elections with candidates pledging to sign star players and leaking stories to the press. Newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claimsBarca and Arsenal have signed a pact that will see Fabregas go to theNou Camp for about £30million at the end of the season. But Wenger said: 'The day I agree to sell a player one year in advance, I will not be in this job any more.' The Spanish press have hinted all summer than Sandro Rosell, who hopes to replace Joan Laporta as president next summer, already has the nod from Fabregas's camp that he can campaign with a pledge to sign the Spain midfielder. Barca had hoped to sign the 22-year-old before the close of the transfer window, but Wenger has steadfastly rejected any approach and hit out the unsettling pursuit of his captain. 'It does not help football and does not help people to focus on their job and is sometimes destabilising,' said Wenger. 'The way Spanish clubs are run is more political than sport orientated. Concentrating on the game: Cesc Fabregas celebrates scoring against Everton 'How much does that harm other clubs? It is difficult to measure, but it does not help other clubs when somebody who has, for example, no chance to be elected next year as president, can announce any name. 'What can you do against him? Nothing. Does that help other clubs? Certainly not.' Wenger's protestations are unlikely to deter the European champions. Barca boss Pep Guardiola believes it will be too difficult to sign Fabregas before the deadline - on August 31 in Spain - but technical secretary Txiki Begiristain is still working on the deal. Meanwhile, Barcelona's interest in Emmanuel Eboue has cooled and they could instead turn to Schalke right-back Rafinha.
