Didier Drogba's record against Arsenal was labelled as 'phenomenal' by Chelsea's assistant boss Ray Wilkins after the Ivory Coast striker put the Blues on the road to victory against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.[LNB]The Ivory Coast striker's 13th goal in 11 starts against the Gunners and an impressive 30-yard free-kick from defender Alex put Chelsea four points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League.[LNB]The defeat left Arsenal with just one point from the last nine and seven points adrift of the Blues.[LNB] Enlarge Familiar scene: Drogba scores Chelsea's opener against Arsenal[LNB]Wilkins said: 'Didier's record against Arsenal is phenomenal but he scores against all teams, not just Arsenal.[LNB]'He scored a very good goal again. That type of back-heel is what Didier is all about. That's what makes him what he is. He certainly does make a difference when he is on fire like he was today.[LNB]'Alex did the same against Liverpool in the Champions League but he practises them (free-kicks).[LNB]'It is not a fluke - he gets out there after training and hits those free-kicks. He works hard at it and reaps his rewards when it comes to him. What a goal it was.'[LNB] Enlarge Off to a flyer: Drogba celebrates after putting Chelsea ahead[LNB]Chelsea responded superbly after a week when their preparations were affected by the death of coach Carlo Ancelotti's father.[LNB]Wilkins continued: 'It's been an extremely difficult week but Carlo would like to thank everybody who has sent their best wishes, especially the League Managers Association. He also got a very nice very text from Sir Alex Ferguson and he wanted me to say that.[LNB]Grateful: Chelsea boss Ancelotti had support during a difficult week[LNB]'The team prepared itself very well because it has been very difficult for them.[LNB]'The first day after his father died was a little bit lacklustre but then for the last two days they trained exceptionally well.[LNB]'They knew what was in front of them with Arsenal. They are a very good side indeed. For us to beat them is always a delight, it is not always very pleasant to look at but it was effective and I thought the lads were terrific.[LNB]'We didn't play the type of football we like to. But sometimes you have to fight and scrap and I think we have the quality to do so. When we do get in the final third, we certainly have the quality to finish teams off.[LNB]'We were disappointed against Manchester City because we didn't match them with any determination, guts and fire and that hurt our lads. You didn't see a fantastic performance today but a different performance in that we really ground out a very good win.'[LNB]Drogba backheeled Chelsea in front at the near post from Ashley Cole's low cross in the 40th minute and Alex sent a rising free-kick into the top corner five minutes from time.[LNB] Master blaster: Alex (No 33) scores a free kick against Arsenal[LNB]Arsenal had plenty of chances to have beaten the Blues and boss Arsene Wenger bemoaned his side's lack of clinical finishing.[LNB]'We have to be more clinical to win championships,' said Wenger. 'We cannot lose a game like that.[LNB]'Their strikers were more clinical than ours and that made the difference. Apart from that, Chelsea were on the ropes for long periods in the game.[LNB]'We had the chances but we need to score. I feel sorry for my team because they had an outstanding attitude.[LNB]'It was a great team performance with great energy and I give a lot of credit to my team.[LNB]'I feel sorry they were not rewarded but when you don't take your chances you don't win big games.[LNB]'We dominated the game, surprisingly easily, but we go home with zero points.[LNB]'The players on the pitch had enough quality to win this game. But we have to transform that into points.'[LNB] Wenger: We only have ourselves to blame after losing to Chelsea (again)Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0: Beware the Drog - Gunners are bitten by Didier againARSENAL FC
