quotes an Arsenal insider as saying: "One of Bolton's staff told Arsene after the game they knew their team well before the team sheets were handed in. When Arsene asked how that was possible the Bolton coach replied Bendtner told them.
'Goodness knows the trouble Nicklas would have been in if he hadn't scored the winning goal.'
Bendtner has not mentioned whether the incident occured but has instead vowed to continue doing all he can to lead Arsenal back into the Premier League title race.
"We have talked among ourselves that 2008 was not the strongest," he said. "So we want to come out in 2009 and show what we are really about.
"I have got a few late goals now, but as long as I can help the team win, I am happy.
"We know the game is for 90 minutes, and if you are focused most of the time you get what you deserve."
Bendtner came on as a substitute on Saturday before scoring the only goal of the game. As he appeared on the touchline it showed he had opted for lime green boots as opposed to his usual preference of pink.
Not a fan of the 21-year-old's choice of footwear, Wenger said after the match: "I am not convinced by them. But if he puts the ball in the net, I do not mind. He has scored a very important goal and I believe in him."
