Arsenal's morale boosted by Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure departures

The Frenchman, who came under attack for not re-investing the £37 million generated by the sale of Adebayor and Toure, silenced his critics at the weekend with a 6-1 annihilation of Everton at Goodison Park. Hailing his young squad's unity it seems life at Arsenal is far more harmonious without Adebayor and Toure, who were both at the centre of dressing room unrest last season. 'We have a united spirit," Wenger said ahead of his side's Champions League qualifier against Celtic. "You have to take care of your attitude and the spirit. The players have to take care of that because it is as fragile as the weather in England. Quickly cloudy. 'It's strange because when you have no attitude or spirit you have no results and when you have results you can lose it quickly. 'I never felt there was an issue spirit wise at the club or within the team. I felt that always we had a good spirit but it's something as well that's difficult to measure when you aren't living every day in the dressing room. 'I believe we have a good attitude and a strong togetherness and that is something that came out on Saturday.' Adebayor made headlines last season after he clashed with Nicklas Bendtner during Arsenal's 5-1 mauling at the hands of Tottenham. The striker did little to hide his discontent with the club and having been talked into rejecting a transfer opportunity last summer, the Togo international headed to Eastlands for £25 million in July and scored on his debut last weekend. Toure meanwhile endured a strained relationship with captain William Gallas to the extent that the pair are understood to have barely spoken even when on the pitch. Toure followed Adebayor to City last month for £14 million.
