Over the last few days Arsenal fans have been holding their breath thinking that they were going to lose another one of their top players. First Cesc Fabregas headed off to play for his beloved Barcelona and then Robin Van Persie left in pursuit of trophies believing that Arsenal were not serious about doing so.

Centre-back, Laurent Koscielny was believed to be the next player out the door at the Emirates but today he has told Arsene Wenger that he is happy to be a Gunner and is looking forward to a new season. Last season, Koscielny really began to show that he is one of the top centre-backs in football which opened the eyes of several teams. Not missing an opportunity, Koscielny agent, Stephane Courbois decide to let clubs know that Koscielny may want to move in the summer and Barcelona came calling.

Barcelona has already given Arsenal a substantial amount of money by purchasing Fabregas and Alex Song over the last year so it was only natural that Barca hit Arsenal up again for another top player. The French international has also drawn quite a bit of attention from Bundesliga and Champions League winners Bayern Munich but to no avail.

Though Koscielny is happy to be staying he also has asked for reassurances that Wenger was going to strengthen the team in the summer transfer market. Koscielny is determined to win silverware during his career and was quoted as saying; "I have the desire to add to my list of honours. I hope the club will give me the means." Arsenal has around £70-100 million to spend in the transfer market and Wenger has been very active looking for top players.

Arsenal really came on near the end of the season and started to hit their form. With one or two new players, Arsenal look to finally end their long trophy drought and bring back some silverware to the Emirates and possible give the Manchester clubs a run at the title.
