As an old Arsenal favourite, Parlour has kept a close eye on Gibbs' development. And, while he concedes Ashley Cole should remain Capello's first-choice left-back when fit, Parlour feels Gibbs warrants a close inspection. [LNB]"He has the talent," he said. "I have watched him loads of times. He has great pace. He can tackle and he gets forward well. [LNB]"Someone always comes from nowhere. It was Theo Walcott last time. I have a feeling Kieran will be the one this season." [LNB]Gibbs' first problem was always going to be getting an extended run in the Arsenal side but he seems to be closest to graduating from England's under-21 side.[LNB]That issue has been resolved because regular right back Gael Clichy has been ruled out of action for at least two months due to a stress fracture in his back. [LNB]And, while Arsenal might struggle to maintain their excellent early-season form now Robin van Persie is also out for an extended period, Gibbs is still coming into a side that will allow him free reign to exhibit his talents. [LNB]"Kieran made that horrendous mistake against Manchester United last season but he has come back stronger from it," said Parlour. [LNB]"Sometimes you need to make mistakes to be a better player. [LNB]"Everybody makes them, it is how you respond. He has come back from that and shown he is a quality player. [LNB]"If Arsene Wenger rates him highly, I am sure Fabio Capello will think he is worth a look." [LNB]
