Arsenal's Facebook Page rankles their fans

With the Emirates Cup back at Arsenal after a gap of a year Arsenal fans are doing their best to become excited about the beginning of the season and the fact that they have been depressingly inactive in the transfer market.

The saying ‘patience is a virtue’ is a phrase Arsenal fans have become accustomed to very well. This year things are supposed to be better – fans were even thinking that this might be the season where something special happens. The stadium is almost paid off, the club is ridiculously cash-rich and to top it off both Arsene and Ivan Gazidis hinted at the end of last season that the club were ready to spend big. With the football season just two weekends away from starting and another young French international, who is the solitary signing, the ‘Wenger Out’ momentum is starting to rumble again.

What does not help matters is the club’s official Facebook page which asked its fans who will be the star performer at this weekend’s Emirates Cup competition? Hmmm, such a difficult question with all those new players that have been signed, not. This question has caused a twitter storm of criticism, with many fans believing they are now being taken for a ride on the back of paying the most expensive season-ticket and matchday prices in the whole of the Premier League.

I will be there to watch all four games. I am looking forward to see the vibrant Turkish support of Galatasaray bring some fantastic atmosphere to the stadium. Oh yes, and how can we forget the one that we allowed to get away, Gonzalo Higuain will be making his debut at the Emirates, albeit not in the colours Arsenal fans would have like to have seen.
