Arsenal's attacking crisis continues as Bendtner suffers injury setback

Arsene Wenger's need for a striker this January has intensifiedafter Nicklas Bendtner was ruled out for a further three weeks with agroin problem.[LNB]The Arsenal boss had hoped to have Bendtner available for selectionfor the start of the new year after he was sidelined during the Gunners 3-0win over north London rivals Tottenham back in October.[LNB]But Wenger is resigned to losing the Denmark international, who has scored three goals this season, until the end of January at the very earliest. 'Buthe had a groin problem as well and the groin problem looks to lastlonger, so they say to me three weeks.'[LNB]Andrey Arshavin has led the line for Arsenal over the past monthfollowing the absence of Bendtner and Robin van Persie, who was ruledout of action until April with ankle ligament damage.[LNB]Wenger is keen to add to his squad and has been given a transferbudget of £50m to spend when the window opens but has stressed he willonly buy if the price is right.[LNB]The Frenchman has been linked with moves for Bordeaux star Marouane Chamakh and Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko but the likelihood of capturing either during the January transfer window is unlikely.
