Arsenal beat AZ Alkmaar 4-1 on Wednesday night to effectively ensure their progress to the last 16 of the Champions League for a 10th consecutive season, with Wenger simply describing the performance as 'brilliant'. [LNB]'We dominated technically and tactically and we were never under threat,' he said. 'We played with a confidence. We are consistent. We grow from game to game. We get stronger from game to game and it's important to keep that attitude to progress and improve, play for each other and improve even more. We have to believe in our future. I believe we have quality. I said before the season that I believe in them but it is down to us to go and be consistent. Then we see how far we can go in this competition.' [LNB]Andrei Arshavin provided the assist for three of Arsenal's goals against Alkmaar and Wenger added: 'He was outstanding - he gave the ball every time the fraction of the second you wanted him to give it and that is top, top quality. [LNB]'Our policy is to produce our own and add players of special quality and they [Arshavin and Thomas Vermaelen] are good examples of that. I am not scared to spend money but what we want is to buy the players who have the needed quality to strengthen the team. We have only players here who can play and pass the ball and score. [LNB]'We need to focus on how we want to play. We have played like we love the game [against Alkmaar] and we wanted to express our talent.' [LNB]Despite Arsenal's quality, Ronald Koeman, the manager of AZ Alkmaar, suggested that they could still suffer from a lack of experience. "Knockout is different, it's only two matches and you have to be good enough in both, it depends on the draw but they are still a young team,' said Koeman. [LNB]'They are very talented and a very good squad that can reach a long way in the Champions League. Maybe they miss a little bit of experience that other teams like Chelsea and Barcelona have. One bad day and you can lose against everybody. It's not one team better than the rest - it's very close.'[LNB]
