Arsenal to offer United youngster a contract

The young French midfielder dubbed 'the new Patrick Vieria' was signed by Manchester United in 2009 under controversial circumstances from Le Harve. Paul Pogba was keen to stay with United in the summer after Sir Alex Ferguson promised him a chance this season.

‘If we hold Pogba back, what’s going to happen? He’s going to leave,’ said the United boss. ‘So we have to give him the opportunity to see how he can do in the first-team and he’s got great ability.’

Pogba has yet to be given the chance and now Arsene Wenger is ready to snap him up if he fails to sign a new deal at Old Trafford this season, according to the Metro.

United had been accused of poaching the youngster from Le Harve after the Premier League side were rumoured to have offered inducements for the player to join them. Although United denied any wrongdoing the French club are adamant they were ripped off for their star talent.
