Arsenal set to move for Japanese youngster Ryo Miyaichi
Published: 02 Sep 2010 - 12:34:33
Arsenal are considering a deal for Japanese strike prodigy Ryo Miyaichi. The teenager impressed on trial last month after previously playing at the Under 17 World Cup in Nigeria last year. In August, he produced a dazzling display in the club's 3-0 friendly win over non-League Boreham Wood, watched by Wenger's assistants Pat Rice and Boro Primorac, as well as chief executive Ivan Gazidis. The two-footed wide man tormented the opposing full-back with a combination of pace and power, and almost grabbed a goal, crashing an effort off the crossbar in the first half. Sources at the 17-year-old's Chukyodai Chuyko High School saidArsenal officials are due to fly out to agree a preliminary contractwith him in the next few days.
