Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner requires groin surgery
Published : 10 Nov 2009 10:27:19
The 21 year-old picked up the injury in last month's 3-0 derby win over Tottenham and had been expected to miss around a month. "I will have an operation. I don't know how long I will be out,' said the Dane. Bendtner began the season in Arsenal's starting XI as part of Arsene Wenger's new-look 4-3-3 formation. The return to fitness of Samir Nasri and Tomas Rosicky will help compensate for his time on the sidelines, and Wenger says the depth of his attacking options is a major positive. 'For me Robin is the best striker in the league at the moment because he is a great link player and that's what I like first/ We play a collective game so it's very important that the target man in our team links well with our players. 'Everybody knows the movement of each other and he has adapted to our style and is suited to our style, like Didier Drogba is suited to the Chelsea style.'
