Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor a Chelsea target

A report in this morning's Mirror claims Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea's incoming coach, has identified the Arsenal targetman as the ideal replacement for Drogba, should the Ivorian be sold. The Mirror report says: "Drogba will pay the price for his outrageous Champions League antics and Chelsea will want around £10million for the African, even though he has just 12 months left on his contract. Senior club figures were livid at Drogba's behaviour at the end of last week's game against Barcelona and the FA Cup Final could now be his last in a Chelsea shirt. UEFA will decide what disciplinary action to take tomorrow and Chelsea are also likely to fine the striker." Adebayor was a target for Barcelona and AC Milan last summer, but Arsenal effectively priced his suitors out of a deal with a £35 million asking price. However, the Togo forward has been inconsistent this season, and Arsene Wenger has been urged to cash in now. Meanwhile, Ancelotti has been urged to reject Chelsea's advances by Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso. "When I wanted to leave, our vice-president Adriano Galliani and Ancelotti, locked me in Milan's trophy room and convinced me to stay," said Gattuso. "Now, if necessary, I will lock up Ancelotti. He has a great relationship in the dressing room and everyone at Milan wants him to remain."
