Arsenal play Jackson Martinez game hints the Emirates linked striker

The Porto striker has made his strongest statement yet in support of a move from Porto to Arsenal with a report quoting the 27-year-old Colombian saying he “would say yes” to a move.

The forward has scored 60 times in 91 games for Porto and has been the subject of intense transfer speculation linking him with a move to the Emirates. The Mirror has reported that the player claims to have been a boyhood fan of Arsenal and told reporters:

"I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements.

"My agent is taking care of my future, right now I'm at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I'll evaluate proposals.

"As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes."

Jackson Martinez has been steadily edging closer to a transfer move to Arsenal with report in the Metro suggesting that transfer talks were open to sign the £20million rated hitman.

The stumbling block in negotiations appears to be the fact that Porto value the player at £35 million, a figure that Wenger has issue with. The striker joined Porto in 2012 for around £7.5m after previously playing in Mexico for Chiapas where he made 58 appearances and scored 28 goals. He began his professional career at Colombian club Independiente Medellin in 2005.
