Arsenal make move for Watford defender Mariappa

Arsenal could be set to make a shock bid for Watford central-defender Adrian Mariappa to boost their defensive options.
According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger sees the 25-year-old as a decent squad player that can add to the competition at the back for the Gunners.
Newcastle United had a bid rejected by Watford last week in the region of £1.5million.
Watford allegedly want around £4million for their academy graduate who has so far played over 200 league games for the Hornets.
