Arsenal look to sign unsettled Bayern Munich starlet David Alaba
Arsene Wenger is hoping to prize Austrian international David Alaba away from Bayern Munich after reports suggest the youngster is unsettled.
The 20-year-old has been forced to play out of his preferred midfield position, and his discomfort in his assigned left-back role has made him think twice in regards to putting pen to paper. Munich have no interest in selling their young star, dubbed “Bayern’s next Lizarazu”, but if he is to force his way in to his favoured position, he must first outshine the likes of Ribery, Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
So, Wenger is keeping a close eye on the situation, and gossip suggests that Laurent Koscielny could be thrown in to a deal.
It’s difficult to even predict how this deal would transpire. On one hand, Wenger wouldn't want to lose his prize defender who performed so well in Arsenal’s home stretch of the Premier League season.
But on the other, Alaba, at just 20-years-old, has proven that he can endure football at the very highest level.
So, Arsenal sacrificing their main man at the back, who, form-wise, is hot and cold sometimes too often, could be the deal.
