Arsenal look set to miss out on transfer targets
Arsenal’s attempts to capture the services of Gonzalo Higuain have been dealt a huge blow after the Argentine forward has admitted that he’d be happy to remain in Spain.
Higuain will have crunch talks this week with new boss Carlo Ancelotti, whom maybe the deciding factor in Higuain’s future.
The 25-year-old felt as though he was undervalued under Mourinho, resulting in a lack of confidence and a worrying lack of game time.
However, with a new manager and a new perspective, Higuian has hinted that he’d be willing to stay on and fight for a starting position.
According to the Daily Mail, a £23 million fee had been agreed between the two clubs, however, Madrid president Florentino Perez was quick to dismiss any such agreement.
Perez said: “We don’t want him to go.
Furthermore, no one from Arsenal has been here to make any type of offer.”
The addition of a big name is looking less and less likely for The Gunners, Arsene Wenger has alternatives, but are they attainable?
Luis Suarez has appeared as a big target, with Wenger remaining tight-lipped over the speculation.
It appears Wenger's only option is to 'splash the cash' in order to secure a big name move. But this is something he's not renowned for.
