Arsenal chase Barca winger Afellay

Arsenal have been given a boost in their hunt for Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay after Barcelona gave the green light on a loan for the player.

Since his move from PSV in 2011 the Dutchman has had a torrid time with injuries and as such has seen his game time severely restricted.

Afellay's talent hasn't gone un noticed with AVB, Brendan Rodger and Arsene Wenger all interested in taking the attacker on loan for the season. 

Arsenal missed out on Nuri Sahin who opted to switch to Anfield this summer and Wenger will obviously try to convince the player that a move to North London is best for his career.
