Arsenal - a new, bright future ahead?

Years of frugality on the transfer market for a club of the stature of Arsenal have seen them finish 8 consecutive seasons trophy-less, but all that is poised to change with the probable splash of £62 million (Yes! You heard it right!) on three players as reported by the Daily Mail. The club finally gets ready to flex its muscles in the transfer market for a change, instead of being the pushover who had to sell off three top rated stars in Fabregas, Nasri and van Persie over the last two years.

If Arsene Wenger does spend a chunk of money on established stars, an exciting time lies ahead for the Gunners and their fans as the team might finally be able to fight tooth and nail with the biggest boys in Europe – and come out on top. Arsenal have, for too long, been easy meat for the likes of Barcelona in the Champions League as memories of Messi and Co. toying with them refuse to fade away easily.

Too long the Gunners have not displayed the strength required in games against the best and too long they have endured the brunt of the Henry’s departure. With the financial management prowess of Arsene Wenger finally paying off dividends in the form of transfer market strength, Arsenal could, at last, become the club that is consistently spoken of in the lines of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

The club has the right amount in-house quality to blend with the missing ingredients anticipated. If Higuain or Fellaini or Rooney dons the Emirates jersey next season, the Gunners should be good for a new beginning. Years of failure have resulted in a strong yearning for titles that might finally be about to come true. With the core of Englishmen in Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gibbs, Walcott, Ramsey and Jenkinson only getting better by the day and the likes of Arteta and Cazorla in the midfield, Arsenal would surely go uphill from here. The wait for quality signings is finally about to end, and hopefully with it Arsenal’s turn around the corner into glory, for good.
