Arsenal will appeal Eduardo ban

ARSENAL have announced they will appeal Uefa?s ?flawed? decision to hand striker Eduardo a two-match ban for diving.[LNB]European football?s governing body found the Croatia international guilty of conning the match referee, during the Gunners? Champions League clash with Celtic last week.[LNB]Eduardo was awarded a spot kick when he went to ground in the penalty area, despite there seeming to be little, if any, contact from the onrushing Hoops? goalkeeper.[LNB]The Gunners striker stepped up to convert the penalty to give Arsenal the lead and all but end the tie, with the Gunners going on to win 3-1 and secure their place in the Champions League proper.[LNB] However, following calls from certain sections of the Celtic camp and the Scottish Football Association to ban the Croatia international, Uefa dished out a two-match ban to the Croatia international.[LNB]Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger described Uefa's actions as a "witch-hunt and the Gunners revealed they are prepared to fight Eduardo?s corner.[LNB]"The club is in receipt of Uefa's reasoned decision in relation to the charge against Eduardo," an Arsenal statement read.[LNB]"We strongly believe that the decision taken is deeply flawed and not based on any forensic review of the video evidence available.[LNB]"There are obvious errors and inconsistencies in Uefa's judgment and we intend to appeal."[LNB]Eduardo is set to miss the Gunners first Champions League games of the season, away at Standard Liege on 16 September and the home encounter with Olympiakos on 29 September.[LNB]Should Uefa change their stance on Eduardo? Let us know what you think...[LNB]
