20 November 2010 14:55
14.45: Stay with us folks. You can follow all the 3pm games right now on this website, and we will of course have plenty of reaction to this north London derby. For now, it's a very good afternoon to you.[LNB]14.42: Football, eh? They'll be bragging about this down Tottenham way for months to come. Arsenal suffer an untimely blow in the title race, with Chelsea still top of the pile before their clash with Birmingham. [LNB]14.39 FULL-TIME: ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 3[LNB]What a victory for Tottenham. I don't know where that came from. The Gunners were 2-0 ahead at half-time but Harry Redknapp's men stormed back to claim a stunning win.[LNB]14.34: There will be fine minutes of injury time here.[LNB]14.32: Walcott blasts a shot over the bar, as Arsenal fans become increasingly frustrated.[LNB]14.29: GOAL! ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 3[LNB]Wouldn't you know it? This could be a famous old day for Spurs now. Van der Vaart swings over a fine free-kick into the area, and Kaboul flicks it into the corner. What a turnaround.[LNB] They've only gone and done it: Younes Kaboul heads past Lukasz Fabianski as Spurs claim victory[LNB]14.26: Arsenal have looked the more likely, but Tottenham are by no means out of this. Bale's cross is poorly punched by Fabianski but the ball won't fall properly for Van der Vaart.[LNB]14.22: Big big chance wasted for the hosts, as a fine cross into the area finds an unmarked Laurent Koscielny, who heads over the crossbar with a golden opportunity.[LNB]14.21: Arsenal make two changes - Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky replace Nasri and Arshavin.[LNB]14.19: Tottenham have reason to thank their goalkeeper Gomes this time, who saves superbly with one hand from Fabregas' fine curler from 25 yards.[LNB]14.17: Peter Crouch is on for Tottenham, replacing Pavlyuchenko. Tottenham fans will be as pleased as punch if the striker can repeat his 'coming on and scoring a goal' trick from Wembley on Wednesday night.[LNB]14.15: The home crowd are sent into raptures as Sebastien Squillaci fires home from close range, but both him and Fabregas look to be in offside positions and the goal is disallowed.[LNB]14.12: Robin van Persie comes on to replace Chamakh for the hosts. Arsenal will be wondering quite how this has happened.[LNB]14.11: GOAL! ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 2[LNB]Van der Vaart smashes home the penalty with some aplomb. Well I never. Football really can be a funny old game, can't it Saint?[LNB] Dutch of class: Rafael van der Vaart celebrates after scoring from the penalty spot[LNB]14.10: PENALTY! It really was interesting, with Modric smashing the ball towards the ball and Fabregas definitely diverting the ball with his hand. Phil Dowd awards a penalty.[LNB]14.08: It's all getting a little bit tense at the Emirates. Ooh here's something interesting, with Modric fouled just outside the penalty area.[LNB]14.04: We have played an hour in the north London derby. If you have just joined us, Arsenal lead 2-1 in an entertaining game. Samir Nasri and Marouane Chamakh have scored for Arsenal, with Gareth Bale responding in this second half for Tottenham.[LNB]13.59: Modric is dangerous from distance, and a powerful shot from 20 yards flies narrowly over the bar. A wise sage in the office has just said 'goals change games.'[LNB]13.58: Benoit Assou-Ekotto nearly sets up Defoe with a fine pass from through, but Gael Clichy is alert to clear away the danger.[LNB]13.54: GOAL! ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 1[LNB]Simply wonderful from Gareth Bale again. Jermain Defoe flicks forward, Van der Vaart cleverly plays in Bale and the Welshman flicks in nonchalantly.[LNB]13.51: Tottenham win an early corner in this second half, but the Arsenal defence clear away easily from Van der Vaart's delivery.[LNB]13.48: We're back under way. I wonder if we'll see a response from Tottenham.[LNB]13.33: HALF-TIME: ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 0[LNB]Easy for the Gunners at the moment, and for a couple of hours at least they are heading for the top of the Premier League table. Tottenham need a huge second half here.[LNB]13.29pm: Arshavin jinks his way into the Tottenham area, but loses control and sees the funny side of it.[LNB]13.25pm: Pavlyuchenko blasts a shot from distance, which takes a deflection and flies over the crossbar for a Tottenham corner. The danger is cleared easily enough, and the hosts look like going into the interval with an advantage.[LNB] Doubling up: Marouane Chamakh scores Arsenal's second goal [LNB]13.22pm: Poor old Harry doesn't look like he's enjoying this one little bit. Tottenham need a goal before half-time.[LNB]13.17: It really is an open affair for a derby game, particularly now as Tottenham chase the game. Luka Modric fires a decent effort from 25 yards, that is palmed away by Arsenal goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski.[LNB]13.13: GOAL! ARSENAL 2 TOTTENHAM 0[LNB]This looks like being yet another joyous afternoon in the north London derby for Arsenal. The goal comes from deep inside the Arsenal half, with some quick passing setting up Andrey Arshavin on the left. The Russian's cross is pinpoint accurate, and Marouane Chamakh gleefully turns in a second goal for Arsenal.[LNB]13.11: Nice cross from Younes Kaboul into the Arsenal area, and the defence has to hurriedly clear behind for a corner. The corner is temporarily cleared, but when a cross comes back in Kaboul heads wide with a difficult chance. More encouraging from Tottenham.[LNB]13.08: Superb from Arsenal, with some lightning quick football almost undoing Spurs. Song passes to Fabregas, and the striker superbly turns a defender before firing narrowly wide.[LNB]13.06: The last ten minutes have been played almost exclusively in the Tottenham half. Redknapp's men need to buck up their ideas here.[LNB] Delight: Samir Nasri celebrates after scoring Arsenal's opening goal[LNB]13.02: Fabregas flicks a nice pass forward towards Alex Song, but Gomes is alert to the danger. Arsenal are very much the better side here.[LNB]12.58: Again Arsenal strike the first blow in these derby games. As you can imagine, Arsene Wenger is the picture of delight, and possibly a little surprise. Harry Redknapp is the opposite.[LNB]12.54: GOAL! ARSENAL 1 TOTTENHAM 0[LNB]Arsenal strike early, and it's all about that man Nasri. A superb through ball from Fabregas finds the Frenchman in space - his first touch isn't brilliant, but Gomes isn't able to gather the ball. Nasri goes round him and even though it looks like he's gone too far, he does brilliantly to clip the ball towards goal and over the line. Delight for the home crowd at the Emirates.[LNB]12.51: Where are the Tottenham defence? They go walkabouts and a Nasri pass leaves Cesc Fabregas in an acre of space inside the visiting penalty area. His low cross is easily gathered by Gomes however.[LNB]12.49: Spurs win an early corner, and Gareth Bale flicks towards goal, forcing Manuel Almunia into an early save. Tottenham fans are in good voice in these early moments.[LNB]12.46: As he promised, Samir Nasri refused to shake William Gallas' hand before the game. Gallas doesn't seem fazed, and as chance would have it the defender times his tackle to prevent Nasri making a chance for himself on the edge of the Tottenham area.[LNB] Well timed: Gallas denies Nasri with an early tackle[LNB]12.46: We're under way. A minute late. It would never happen in America.[LNB]12.41: The rather nervous looking teams are making their way out from the tunnel at the Emirates. As they say on the telly - all the action comes next.[LNB]12.39: Even though kick-off fast approaches, there are plenty of empty seats. It's amazing how fans pile in at the last minute in these all seated times. The same happened at Twickers last week, where I saw England beat Australia. The ground was virtually empty 15 minutes before the start.[LNB]12.37: I'm watching pictures of the last time Spurs won at Arsenal in May 1993. It's so long ago that the infamous mural was behind the North Bank end at Highbury. Of the 36 matches in the Premier League era, Arsenal have won 14 and Spurs just six. [LNB]12.35: An Arsenal fan with red and white scarf greeted the team earlier on their arrival at the Emirates. Not just any supporter of the Gunners though, but Thierry Henry. The Frenchman may have moved to Spain, but a large part of his heart clearly still lies with the Gunners.[LNB]12.30: The more discerning among you will notice that Jack Wilshere has not made the Arsenal team, while Laurent Koscielny returns to the defence after suspension. There are no big surprises in the Spurs team.[LNB]12.25: Sorry, what's that folks? You want the team news? No problem at all, here it is:[LNB]Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Song, Denilson, Nasri, Fabregas, Arshavin, Chamakh.Subs: Szczesny, Rosicky, van Persie, Walcott, Wilshere, Djourou, Eboue.[LNB]Tottenham: Gomes, Hutton, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Jenas, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Pavlyuchenko.Subs: Cudicini, Bentley, Palacios, Crouch, Defoe, Bassong, Corluka.[LNB]Referee: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)[LNB]12.15: Good day, good day. The never-ending roller coaster that is football arrives in north London this lunchtime. And it's live right here on this website. I know, I know - we do spoil you.[LNB] The Spurs players may fight that little bit harder to stop Arsenal beating them in the north London derby this afternoon.[LNB]Victory for the Gunners will send them top of the Premier League table, ahead of their London rivals Chelsea.[LNB]ButArsenal have been beaten twice on their own patch already this term - by West Brom and Newcastle - and one wonders if Spurs will play in blackand white shirts today as a good luck charm.[LNB]Awin for inconsistent Tottenham will propel them back into the top five, while a four goal victory will hoist them above Manchester City and into the top four. They can but dream...[LNB] Let battle commence: Arsenal and Tottenham have already played each other in the Carling Cup this season[LNB]  Bright and bootiful: How did footwear at Spurs compare in the sixties?
