16 February 2014 11:17

The Gunners go in the game off the back of a humiliating 5-1 defeat to their opponents last weekend, Arsene Wenger will also have one eye on Wednesday’s Champions League tie with Champions Bayern Munich.

Liverpool are still yet to taste defeat in 2014 following their dramatic late winner at Fulham in mid-week and will be hoping to continue their great run when they travel to The Emirates tomorrow. Brendan Rodgers has no other cup competitions on his mind meaning he has the added luxury of not needing to rest any players.

Team News

Wenger is likely to rest some of his main players ahead of Wednesday’s game, the hosts will have Mathieu Flamini back after his three-match suspension but Santi Cazorla is a doubt following illness.

Defender Thomas Vermaelen continues his recovery from a knee injury, while midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom are also sidelined.

Meanwhile Daniel Agger could make his return for Liverpool after recovering from a calf-injury. Glen Johnson could make an early return whilst Joao Carlos Teixeira could make his second senior appearance for the club after making his debut against Fulham.

Stats

Between them these teams have appeared in 31 FA Cup finals, With Arsenal boasting 17 finals and Liverpool 14.

The last time Arsenal conceded five against Liverpool at Anfield was in 1963/64 and the following fixture between the two sides at Highbury ended 0-0.

Liverpool have won the FA Cup on seven occasions - most recently in 2006.

Prediction

Liverpool have been on a fantastic run as of late with the “SAS” well and truly back in full swing. Wenger will be forced to rest some of their key players so you have to feel Liverpool will take advantage of this. It’s hard to see past a Liverpool win.
