Arsenal are set to make another move for Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.

Gonzalez's agent Federico Simonian claims that the Marseille midfielder will leave the club in January.

According to The Sun, Arsenal, who had a bid turned down in the summer will be the first to bid for him.

Simonian said: "You'll have to ask Marseille why he wasn't allowed to leave in August.

"Like every player he wants to make progress.

"He wants to be transferred to the Italian, Spanish or English leagues. Of course, he will be transferred to a team that deserves and appreciates him."

Everton have also been interested in the past but they may be priced out of a deal this time around.

Arsene Wenger will however have to contend with interest from Roma and Fiorentina.

Both Serie A sides are ready to match the £10 million price tag for the 30 year old.
