Next top Gun? Renat Yanbaev is a target for Arsenal[LNB]Lokomotiv Moscow defender Renat Yanbaev admits he would take a pay cut to join Arsenal but fears his chances of a move have been scuppered by Russia boss Dick Advocaat.[LNB]Sportsmail revealed in June that Arsene Wenger was tracking the versatile full back - who can play on either flank - amid Gael Clichy's prolonged lack of form.[LNB]France defender Clichy has been disappointing all season and was thought to be looking at options abroad in the summer, though Kieran Gibbs is emerging as a credible alternative.[LNB]Yanbaev has confirmed he was aware of Arsenal's interest but fears his failure to hold down a regular place for Russia means he would have little chance of getting a work permit for the Premier League.[LNB]'My agent told me there was interest from Arsenal, but that I didn't have enough games for the national team,' said the 26-year-old.[LNB]'Advocaat says he doesn't see me at left back for the national team. I need to work hard and prove that I deserve a call-up.[LNB]'I'm willing to lose money for a move abroad. I want to play for a European club, but so far it hasn't worked out.'[LNB]Yanbaev is highly regarded in Russia, but has struggled to make an impact at international level since Guus Hiddink converted winger Yury Zhirkov to left back in the build-up to Euro 2008 and Advocaat has followed his fellow Dutchman's lead.[LNB]Yanbaev was not even called up for Russia's friendly against Belgium on Wednesday night after Lokomotiv's collective poor form over the last few weeks of the Russian Premier League season.[LNB] Jermain Defoe boost for Spurs as striker returns to full training earlier than expectedRobert Pires is back!
