Arsenal target on the verge of Juventus move?

Juventus are set to end their quest for proven European goal-scorer by tabling a formal bid for Fiorentina striker, and Arsenal target, Stevan Jovetic.

With the players’ agent stating yesterday that his client had no interest in leaving Italy, the Scudetto winners are said to be keen on adding the Montenegrin to their long list of faltering forward men.

Juventus’ move for Jovetic, who’s fourteen league goals helped Fiorentina secure a Europa League place next season, looks to have gained momentum after club officials were alerted of the strikers’ desire to play for the championship winning side.

A striker remains top priority for the Old Lady, despite all but agreeing a deal for Spanish striker Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard has been out of favour at Athletic Bilbao this term due to a contract dispute, and Juventus club officials are more than aware that the 6 ft 5 target man may well arrive with a lack of confidence and form.

And with the club keen to avoid a repeat of the 12/13 campaign that saw them start the season without a prolific forward man, the lure of the Serie A veteran Jovetic may prove too hard to resist.
