The 17-year-old has been linked with moves to several top Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was named in the League One team of the year last season as he helped Southampton to promotion to the Championship, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists from 41 appearances.
But Oxlade-Chamberlain believes he is now ready to make the step up to the top flight and emulate previous Southampton youth products Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale.
"I've heard Arsenal are in for me and to join a top-four club is what I hope for," Oxlade-Chamberlain told The Sun.
"When the bus comes along, you have to jump on it and make the most of your opportunities.
