Arsenal striker Bendtner expected to put pen to paper on new contract
Nicklas Bendtner is is talks with Arsenal over a new contract, with a deal expected to be agreed over the next few weeks.
Bendtner is set to play an even bigger role for Arsenal this season following the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City.
The 21-year-old striker joined the Gunners from FC Copenhagen in 2004.
Bendtner has been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium but said: 'Since I was 16 my ambition has been to play for the Arsenal first team.
'We are still talking and I hope that we can reach an agreement. There are, at least, no obstacles in the way.'
