Arsenal star Abou Diaby wants a more careful regime to limit his injury problems

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby will undergo a more careful regime in future in order to limit the kind of injuries that have limited his appearances in recent seasons.

Diaby suffered foot injuries in both 2006 and 2008 which kept him out of action for several months.

He is currently preparing with the France squad for the World Cup, and is determined to prepare meticulously.

Diaby told L'Equipe: 'Indeed, injuries have slowed down my development.

'But I have to hold on and sustain my efforts, so today I am in the French team group to prepare for the World Cup. I tried to find the reason to my injuries, why it happened so often. Now I take care about anything: treatments, rest, physical work, warm-ups.

'I am much more rigorous, less lax about preparation.'

Diaby will be hoping to addto his four caps over the next few weeks in South Africa.
