But the Arsenal hierarchy are desperate to keep hold of Wenger, 60, who would enter his 18th year at the club, should he commit to the new deal.

According to the Sunday Mirror,Wenger, who has a year-and-a-half to run on his current contract, willhold talks at the end of the season regarding his future.
Wenger's side travel to Wigan on Sunday, knowing that a win wouldsee them close the gap to Premier League leaders Chelsea to just threepoints, with as many games to play.
