Arsene Wenger is reported to have turned down the chance to buy Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in January. Drogba who is out of contract in summer is likely to turn down a new deal at Chelsea in order to finish off his career elsewhere.

The Ivory Coast captain has found himself on the bench in recent months following the arrival of record signing Fernando Torres from Liverpool.

Arsenal are looking to bring someone in to play alongside their Dutch Captain Robin van Persie, however Wenger insists Drogba does not offer value for money.

Tottenham have also been interested as have a number of French clubs including former side Marseille. Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will try and tie Drogba down to a new deal but will not stand in his way if he does chose to leave Stamford Bridge.
