Arsenal, Manchester Utd & Celtic: Champions League last 16 reaction

20 December 2012 17:07

We now know who Britain’s finest will be facing in the last 16 of the Champions League – Europe’s biggest club competition.

Manchester United have been paired with Spanish giants Real Madrid in the tie of the round whilst Arsenal will take on Bayern Munich and Celtic will face Juventus with a place in the last eight at stake.

Here’s some of the reaction from the three ‘home’ camps – and the views of Sky Sports’ panel of experts - as the countdown to Wembley 2013 continues...

Celtic boss Neil Lennon said: “In terms of glamour, it is a beauty. In terms of qualification it is obviously going to be difficult. Juventus are a great team with a fantastic tradition.

“”We are looking forward to the tie and I am sure the fans will en joy this latest adventure. We have to take some sort of advantage to Turin, and I know our fans will raise the roof at Celtic Park once again in the first leg.

“The draw could have been kinder but it could have been worse given the quality of the other teams in the draw. It is one to relish and enjoy and, as a young manager, it is an exceptional challenge.

“We came through the group stage in some style and it is an exciting opportunity to emulate the achievements of previous eras at this great club.”
