Arsenal make renewed attempt to wrest Inter of young star

It looks like Arsenal remain keen on bringing another young and 'versatile' midfielder to the Emirates and it's a player that they have have been keeping tabs on for some time.

Marcelo Brozovic is greatly admired by Arsene Wenger and his displays at Euro 2016 for Croatia have not disappointed. The 23-year-old Inter Milan midfielder only joined Inter Milan this year after impressing on loan in 2015-2016, making 46 starts in all competitions and scoring 8 goals.

Should Inter immediately sell-on their player who has been used as a box-to-box player then Arsenal will need to find somewhere in the region of 30million euros. According to Gazzetta dello Sport this valuation is non-negotiable and that recent approaches from the Gunners have concerned lowering the asking price.

The Croatian international signed for Dinamo Zagreb in 2012 with a seven-year deal that could have taken the player to 2019 but he was loaned to Inter Milan on a one-and-a-half year deal in 2015 with a conditional obligation to buy the player after the loan spell.

Brozovic made his senior Croatia debut in 2014 and has gone on to earn 19 caps for his country, scoring 4 international goals.

The player has previously been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham according to earlier reports by the same Gazzetta dello Sport with Inter facing financial difficulties and Brozovic only earning £18,000-a-week.

Asked in June if he wanted to leave the club he said: “I don’t know, I really don’t know [if Inter want to sell me].

“I certainly want to stay.”
