Arsenal launches 'Be a Gunner, Be a Runner'

The Gunners and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity launch fun-run around Emirates Stadium Arsenal Football Club and its Charity of the Season, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity are delighted to announce the launch of the second ever 'Be a Gunner. Be a Runner.' event which will unite Gunners at the world famous Emirates Stadium on Saturday 13 March 2010.Registration for the 10-lap 6.4 kilometre fun-run around the outside of the Gunners' home is now open to all Arsenal fans, keen runners and anyone else who would like to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. All participants are asked to raise at least £100 in sponsorship for one of the world's leading children's hospitals. New for this year, there will also be a shorter run on the day for any child aged 15 or under, so it truly is a day for all the family.To enter the challenge, supporters should visit www.beagoonerbeagiver.org and register for £15 and in return, runners will receive a special edition running t-shirt as well as training, nutrition and equipment advice from start to finish. All those who raise over £500 for the Charity will be deemed 'Top Gunners' and will receive a personally signed certificate from an Arsenal first team player to celebrate their fundraising success. All funds raised as part of 'Be a Gunner. Be a Runner.' will go towards Arsenal's season-long target of £500,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.Gael Clichy said: "I hope lots of supporters sign up for what looks to be a really fun day at the stadium, and certainly a great fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Through this, the Club aims to raise £500,000 to help fund a new Arsenal Lung Function Unit for children who have difficulty breathing or sleeping.
