Arsenal join Spurs and Birmingham in banning vuvuzelas at matches

Premier League: Arsenal, Birmingham, TottenhamChampionship: Cardiff City, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, BarnsleyLeague One: Southampton [LNB]All England Tennis club, Wimbledon[LNB]Tri-Nations rugby matches in New Zealand[LNB]London 2012 Olympics[LNB]Formula One Grands Prix[LNB]2011 Rugby World Cup[LNB]UFC and GAA in Ireland[LNB]A statement from Arsenal said: 'Further to their hugely debated involvement at this summer's World Cup Finals in South Africa, Arsenal Football Club has decided to forbid the use of vuvuzelas within Emirates Stadium with immediate effect.[LNB]'This decision has been taken to ensure the enjoyment and safety of supporters on matchdays, which is of paramount importance to the club.'[LNB]Birmingham have also banned them, issuing a statement reading: 'Blues can confirm that supporters will not be allowed to bring vuvuzelas into St. Andrew's on matchdays.[LNB]'The club took into account feedback from both supporters and relevant bodies such as the Safety Advisory Committee and have made the decision on health and safety grounds.[LNB]'An overwhelming majority of Blues supporters said they didn't want vuvuzelas to be allowed at St. Andrew's.'[LNB]Premier League new boys Blackpool  were thought to be the only club welcoming them but now appear on the point of banning them as well.[LNB] A club spokesman said: 'We haven't really given any full consideration to vuvuzelas at the moment.
