Arsenal Interested in Juve's Pogba

Eurosport are reporting that should Arsenal fail in their bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohann Cabaye, then they will switch their attention to former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba saw his first team opportunities limited at Manchester United and therefore accepted a move to the Seria A champions. Pogba went on to make 27 appearances and won the league title in his first season. As a result of good form he was called up for international duty for France also. When Pogba decided it was time to move on, the player himself stated Arsenal were interested, but opted for a move to the Italian giants. "There was [interest] this summer with Chelsea and Arsenal, but it was less concrete," he told L'Equipe.

The defeat to Aston Villa at home may spur Arsenal and Arsene Wenger into action in a summer where they have only bought one player; the young French striker Sanogo. Last season arsenal had barely made a foray into the transfer window until they were beaten 8-2 by Manchester United and subsequently bought five players before the transfer window closed.
