The Gunners are reportedly in pole position to sign Charlton Athletic's 17-year-old defender Joe Gomez, who has appeared numerous times for England's U16's, U17's and U19's.
Gomez, who is rated at around £8million, has appeared over 20 times for The Addicks this season after coming through the ranks at Charlton's academy. The defender has been with Charlton since 2010 and made his debut for the club's U18 side aged just 13.
As well as being on Arsenal's radar, it's thought Manchester City are also interested although the Mirror report that Wenger's side look to have the run on City.
The youngsters versatility is a trait Wenger often looks for in his players, with Gomez able to fill in at either centre-back or right-back.
