Arsene Wenger will not extend Aaron Ramsey's loan spell with Nottingham Forest despite admitting the player had not got the game time he had hoped for during his stint at the City Ground. [LNB]Welsh midfielder Ramsey has been with the npower Championship side sinceNovember 25 in a bid to ramp up his fitness levels after nine monthsout with a broken leg.[LNB]Wenger claims Ramsey is not yet ready to be thrown into Premier League action, but has ear-marked February as a potential return.[LNB] Light through the Forest: Aaron Ramsey has been at the City Ground since late November[LNB]His spell under Billy Davies has unfortunately been affected by thebad weather, which resulted in two Forest fixtures being postponed.[LNB]Ramsey has featured three times for the club, starting his first game in 10 months on Wednesday, the 5-2 win over Derby, where he drew much of the plaudits.[LNB]Forest were keen to extend Ramsey's stay in the Midlands and see him as a vital component of their promotion-chasing side. [LNB]Earlier this month, Davies said: 'When we get closer to the time, we will look at that option and the possibility of trying to extend his loan. That would be nice because he is an exceptional talent. You can see that in how he handles himself.[LNB]'He would be a superb player for Forest to have (for longer) but the most important thing is to enjoy the period we have with him and once we get closer to January, we will look at it again.[LNB]'He has been a pleasure over the last fortnight. He has settled in very well and is itching to play.'[LNB] Vicious: Ramsey's career was threatened by a shocking lunge from Stoke's Ryan Shawcross[LNB]Wenger, though, revealed today that he would bring the the highly-rated teenager back to London on January 2.[LNB]'We did not get the number of games we wanted from him because ofthe snow,' the manager said. 'He is a snow victim and we are as wellconsequently.[LNB]'But I am not tempted to do it [extend his loan]. If Abou Diaby was notinjured I would certainly have considered it but not now.[LNB]Star of the future: There is expectation at Arsenal that Ramsey will one day fill the boots of Cesc Fabregas[LNB]'Aaron is not completely ready yet [for the Premier League] but he hasbeen practising every day with the group for two months. I hope thatwhen he comes back he should be ready in February.'[LNB]When the move was announced, Ramsey said: 'I've been out for a longtime and just to be out there and playing again made me realise howmuch football means to me. I've missed a lot of the year, but it was sogood to be back in the swing of things.[LNB]'Obviously the first two months after the injury were the hardest, I couldn't really move much, although I was encouraged to try to get on my feet. My friends and family helped me get through it.[LNB]'I'm here to get back to 100 per cent and hopefully win as many games for Forest as possible. I want to try and get them going in the right direction.'[LNB]Ramsey added in The Daily Star: 'I felt alright and I'm still a way off playing 90 minutes, but my fitness is coming along nicely. I've been out for nine months and these are what these games are for.'[LNB]Ramsey launched his career with Cardiff, where he was a team-mate of current Forest man Chris Gunter, and at the age of just 16 years and 124 days became their youngest ever player.[LNB]He made just 21 first team appearances for the South Wales club before moving to Arsenal in the summer of 2008, famously choosing the Gunners over Manchester United after the Old Trafford club had announced his capture on their website.[LNB]Ramsey has made great strides under Arsene Wenger - featuring 28 timeslast season - and was close to nailing down a starting berth when hisseason was cut short by a horror lunge by Stoke's Ryan Shawcross.[LNB] Forest eye extension to Ramsey loan with Arsenal star lacking fitnessNottingham Forest 5 Derby 2: Tough Clough after Tudgay runs rivals raggedStoke villain Shawcross has no fears over Emirates backlash, reveals PulisArsenal starlet Aaron Ramsey admits relief after ending nine months of injury hell on loan at Nottingham ForestARSENAL FC
