Arsenal call off pursuit of Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh

Chamakh has only one year remaining on his contract and, having bid around £6 million last week, Wenger is not prepared to drastically increase his offer. "In five months, if he doesn't prolong his contract, Chamakh will be free to talk to any club and Bordeaux won't get anything," said Wenger. "In the current context, to me, it is over. I am in no rush.[LNB]"My offer seems fair to me.
