Arsenal boss Wenger weighs up replacement for injured striker Bendtner

Race against time: Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner[LNB]Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he will have to sign a new striker if Nicklas Bendtner fails to recover from a groin injury quick enough.[LNB]The Gunners are already without injured striker Robin Van Persie until April due to an ankle injury and Theo Walcott is also struggling for full match fitness meaning Arsenal are really light in attack.[LNB]Wenger hopes Denmark striker Bendtner will soon be back in action following surgery for a hernia.[LNB]But Wenger insists he will otherwise have to step up his search for new talent as Arsenal look to mount a sustained challenge for the Barclays Premier League title this season.[LNB]The Gunners can go within a point of leaders Chelsea if they beat Bolton on Wednesday night.[LNB]And Wenger said: 'It depends on Bendtner and how bad [his injury] is. He is being treated now and will come back on Friday for tests then we will assess the situation.[LNB] Sidelined: Striker Robin Van Persie will be out for Arsenal until at least April[LNB]'The real test will be in the next two weeks, with the projection with Bendtner.[LNB]'If he is out for two months, there is no way - we will need someone absolutely. We cannot have one [striker].[LNB]'We are looking anyway and if we find a good bargain then, despite that, we will still do it.
