£12m bid: Toure

Manchester City

have made a renewed £12million bid for Arsenal

's Kolo Toure.

However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is reluctant to sell the central defender with only three days left in the window.

City may consider increasing their bid to £15m and offering players in return, with Richard Dunne a possibility, but Wenger is likely to resist.

That may push City back towards Chelsea

's Brazilian Alex while they have also been offered Marco Materazzi from Inter Milan.

City left back Michael Ball has been told his contract will not be renewed days after knee surgery that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.

His deal ends in the summer and he had played through the pain barrier in a bid to win a new offer.
