Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger slams foreigner cap ruling and says the England team is not his concern

Arsene Wenger has hit out at rules limiting the number of foreign players allowed in Premier League squads, saying it is not his job to worry about the standard of the England team.[LNB]Fabio Capello supports the cap and Premier League bosses hope it will encourage clubs to invest properly in young English talent.[LNB]Looking out for number one: Wenger says the England team is not his concern[LNB] Premier League squads this season must contain a maximum of 25 players aged over 21, at least eight of whom have to be 'home-grown' that is, players trained in England or Wales for 36 months before the end of the season in which they became 21.  [LNB]But Wenger, whose Arsenal squad contains 14 foreign players over 21 and just six 'home-grown' ones, none of whom are English, branded the rules 'artificial' and said having to play more English players will damage the standard of the league. [LNB]'I'm not too much for rules. What is important is quality,' said Wenger. 'The Premier League is the most watched league in the world and you only get that if you focus on quality.'[LNB]Wenger said it was not his concern whether that had a negative effect on the national team, adding being England manager 'is not my job, fortunately'.[LNB]Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed he would not blame Cesc Fabregas for rejoining Barcelona. The France striker said: 'It is hard because the guy is from Barcelona. As an Arsenal fan, I want him to stay, but I would also understand if he goes back home.'[LNB] ARSENAL
