Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Jack Wilshere has the potential to become the new Wayne Rooney - but hopes it won't be just yet! The 17-year-old was man-of-the-match for the Gunners in both their Emirates Cup games last weekend and Wenger insists the attacking midfielder can go all the way. 'He reminds me a bit of Rooney when he started, in his belief and his positive attitude to go forward,' said Wenger. 'For the rest, he still has a lot to learn, regarding relations withother players team-wise, but there are some great basics there. As amanager you do not want a guy to be a star before he has delivered, andmaybe here that is more difficult than anywhere else!' Rooney became England's youngest-ever full international at 17 years111 days in 2003, a record beaten by 36 days by Arsenal'a Theo Walcottin 2006. Wilshere is not 18 until January 1 but after his heroics lastweekend, it has been suggested he may even get the nod from FabioCapello for England's friendly against Holland in Amsterdam next week. But Wenger believes his starlet, who has not even played for his country at under-21 level, will miss out, adding in The Star: 'I believe Fabio Capello will leave him out of the national team at the moment.'
