Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger last night confirmed that Theo Walcott's contract situation at the Emirates is close to finalizing, with the 23 year old set to sign a long term deal.
There has been much speculation over the winger's future, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Arsenal fans were worried that Theo would follow a similar trend to Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie.
But it appears that a conclusion to protracted talks may finally come to a positive end for the Gunners.
“I hope that [a deal] is not far,” the Frenchman admitted.
“As long as he thinks I’m not done, it’s not done but that’s the first important work we have to do and hopefully we can do that very quickly.
