Arsenal Back in The Race for Real Madrid Forward

Arsenal is looking set to launch a £30 million bid for Karim Benzema but only after the Champions League final.

Arsene Wenger has his mind set on attempting to bring the French international to the Emirates for a third time.

The Arsenal boss is planning to wait until the Champions League is over before making an official move but he is aware that Benzema’s contract expires next year.

The Real Madrid forward has only one year remaining on his current contract, which leaves the Spanish Giants with a major decision as to whether they will renew or sell the Frenchman. However, that decision will greatly be influenced by whether they will successfully acquire Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez.

The Gunners made a formal bid for Benzema last summer when they purchased Mesut Ozil but Real were not ready to see off yet another striker from their starting lineup.

All action will have to wait though as Real Madrid are preparing to face rivals Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final in Lisbon next week. With their hopes of getting their hands on the La Liga title diminished, Los Blancos are only focused on the final at the moment.
