London could push for three venues if England's bid to host the World Cup in 2018 is successful - despite FIFA rules only allowing that figure in exceptional circumstances.[LNB]Wembley has already been designated by the 2018 bid team as the venue for the opening game and final. [LNB]And should the London bid team attempt to use the Olympic Stadium as the second venue, they would spark a battle between Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and Tottenham's planned new 56,000-seater home as to who would gain the potential third slot. [LNB]As revealed in Sportsmail, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge is not being considered as it does not meet strict FIFA criteria. [LNB]Liverpool's bid, meanwhile, has been dealt a blow after Everton's proposal for a new stadium in Kirkby was rejected by the Government. [LNB] Competing: Arsenal's Emirates Stadium is a potential third London venue for 2018[LNB]Also included in their bid was Liverpool's planned new home in Stanley Park, although a revamped Anfield was also submitted as insurance. [LNB]Bid chief executive Andy Anson said: 'Liverpool have a very convincing bid, it's 2009 now and we're talking about 2018. Liverpool are optimistic that the funding for their new stadium is around the corner. [LNB]'The fallback option is Anfield. They would clearly have to make improvements but it is there as an iconic stadium as part of their bid book. [LNB]'We'll be evaluating their bid in that light. It's when the inspectors come over by the end of August that we'll have a solution everyone buys into.'
