Arsenal 2 Olympiakos 0: Relief for Wenger after late Gunners goal blitz

No one at Arsenal would ever admit it but on nights like this they really do miss Emmanuel Adebayor. [LNB]They miss the sheer physical presence, the speed and athleticism and, most of all, the ability not just to finish but finish teams off. They probably even miss those moments when he runs to them celebrating a goal. [LNB]This is a good Arsenal team. Not quite the finished article, perhaps, but comfortably classy enough to conquer the champions of Greece and they got there in the end when Robin van Persie made the most of a surging run from Eduardo with a close-range finish in the 78th minute. [LNB]Arsene Wenger makes a decent case for not blowing Arsenal'shard-earned profits on players inferior to those he already has, and itis difficult to question his ability in the transfer market when hecontinues to buy so well. Arshavin and Thomas Vermaelen represent twoexcellent acquisitions.
