Are Arsenal the Premier League's most stylish team?

If you’re one of those people who bemoans the fact that some footballers seem to care more about their hair than what happens on the pitch, you might want to give the new issue of GQ Style a wide berth.

Arsenal players Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have teamed up with fashion house Lanvin for a feature in the magazine, and the chat could not be further from: “Well, I’ve just hit it and it’s gone in the back of the net.”

Here’s an arty video.

In the feature, Giroud reveals his pleasure at being an inspiration to young children – because of his hair: “They try to do the quiff. Especially in France, I see a lot of them. It is funny because they try to imitate me – but it is always a pleasure.”

Ozil reveals what’s in his “grooming kit” – we think that’s what used to be called a washbag: “I bring my own grooming kit to the game… moisturiser, gel and shampoo – I like to take care of myself… Football players like to take care of themselves and pay attention to the way they dress.”

You wanna watch doing that with your jumper, Olivier – that’s a sure-fire way to get spots on your beautiful chin.

Fear not though – there is some football chat. Well, sort of. Here’s Giroud again: “David Beckham is a top man. I love the guy and what he can show in terms of style as well. He’s really classy, an icon… When I was young, I looked up to Andriy Shevchenko. He was so elegant, and on the pitch as well.”

It’s a funny old game.
