Arsenal haven’t won anything for a long time. The trophy cabinet in The Emirates has not had silverware since the days of The Invincibles.
Is now the time for Arsene Wenger to spend?
With Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United having all changed their managers this summer, the Arsenal faithful must be licking their lips in anticipation of next season.
This is Arsenal’s best chance to win the Premier League, they just need to spend money.
By coincidence the board have given Wenger the green light to splash the cash. If reports are to be believed Gonzalo Higuain, Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Williams and Wayne Rooney could all be on their way to North London.
This would be welcome news for Arsenal fans who have been disappointed year after year by Wenger’s philosophy of buying young talent for peanuts and selling for a massive profit.
If Arsenal can sign players of quality such as above, in my opinion, they are only a world class goalkeeper away (Julio Cesar?) from once again being a force in English and World football.
